If you plan to go by rail, then the closest railway station to Mahabaleshwar is located at Wathar. However, most people prefer to go from Pune via Panchgani.

If you are taking a road trip to Chinaman waterfalls, it is only a four-five hour journey from Mumbai. Thanks to the newly constructed highway. Mahabaleshwar is well-connected to all the major cities of Maharashtra, there are many transport facilities by road. From private taxis to luxury, semi-luxury, and ordinary busses, a tourist can be at Chinaman waterfalls however he/she wants.
Once you reach Mahabaleshwar, you can either reach the waterfalls via Carviali Road, a 2.5 km ride or take the Tiger Path Road via Babington Point.

- Elephant’s Head Point and Kate’s point: This is a place at a distance of just 7 km from Mahabaleshwar Bus Stand. This place is called the elephant head point because of the natural formation of the shape of the mountain, which looks like an elephant’s head with a trunk. The kate’s point, which is at an altitude of 1290 m, and the elephant’s head point are both picturesque viewpoints from where you can see the whole city and surroundings.
- Arthur View Point: This is another viewpoint location at a distance of 13 km from Mahabaleshwar and is worth a visit. This place is famous for floating light objects. Due to low pressure, objects with less weight tend to come up when thrown down.
- Vajrai Falls: This falls made its place of the most popular tourist places in the monsoon in Maharashtra. This is about 41 km from Mahabaleshwar. A three-tier waterfall from a height of 853 feet is for sure a visit.
Some of the other places to see can be The Venna Lake, The Mahabaleshwar Temple, Elphinstone Point, Tapola, and many historic forts.
